apport-valgrind software package provides valgrind wrapper that first downloads debug symbols, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install apport-valgrind
apport-valgrind is installed in your system.
Make ensure the apport-valgrind package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep apport-valgrind *
You will get with apport-valgrind package name, version, architecture and description in a table
